Having spent 35 years working in the patent department at ICI, Tim’s industrial experience is extensive. During his career, he has also held many high-profile positions within the profession, including:

• President of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA)
• Member of the UK Government’s Intellectual Property Advisory Committee (IPAC)
• Member of the Appeal Board panel of the European Plant Variety Rights Office
• Chairman of a World Bank expert panel on proprietary science and technology

The author of articles in leading scientific and legal journals and the current General Editor of the European Patents Handbook, Tim brings a wealth of information to Brookes Batchellor as a patent consultant.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Chemistry from Oxford University
Doctor of Laws degree (honoris causa) from the University of Sheffield
Chartered Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney
